EAA Aircraft Insurance Plan Available for Canadian Members


One of the most often asked questions we receive from Canadian members is, “Why can’t we get aircraft insurance through the EAA Aircraft Insurance Plan?” Good news! You can now enjoy affordable, extensive liability and aircraft hull coverage through C-PLAN, a new offering within the EAA Aircraft Insurance Plan.

Now Canadian EAAers can benefit from expanded coverage on owned, borrowed, or rented aircraft at a competitive rate from EAA. Coverage is available for aircraft used for personal or business purposes, aircraft licensed to fly in the standard and amateur-built categories, as well as ultralight and kit plane aircraft.

With C-PLAN – underwritten by Global Aerospace, Canada’s largest, most trusted aviation insurer, and administered by Nacora Insurance Brokers Ltd.Canadian EAAers can obtain:

  • liability-only coverage for pilots with optional non-owned hull coverage
  • liability and hull coverage for specified aircraft.

Coverage enhancements for owned aircraft have been designed exclusively for EAA members, including (All amounts are in Canadian Dollars):

  • medical expenses $10,000
  • search and rescue $25,000
  • emergency expenses $5,000
  • headset and handheld avionics $1,500
  • personal property $5,000
  • hangar and contents $50,000
  • premises liability extension
  • work in progress (WIP) available upon request.
