Bits and Pieces
From the Editor - AirVenture!

AirVenture is here! The Oshkosh miracle is about to happen again. Hopefully we’ll have clear blue skies the whole week, but, hey, we’ll take what we get. I’m sure that if you’re planning on flying to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh you have been poring over the NOTAM already. If not, you can download it here.
I have never had the opportunity to share this photograph before, but for me it typifies AirVenture. I was standing in the crowd at AirVenture 2005 and just managed to snap this super shot at the right moment. There we were, witness to this supreme example of a privately developed experimental aircraft, doing a flyby just for us.
What are you planning for your own trip if you’re fortunate enough to be attending this year? Here are some items of specific interest to Canadians:
- Monday, July 23, 10 a.m. Forum Pavilion 01 – Meet the EAA Canadian Council for an interactive discussion on EAA and Canada.
- Tuesday, July 24, 10 a.m. Skyscape Theater B08 – Save the Canso. An update on the progress of this interesting restoration project by six farmers from Fairview, Alberta.
- Tuesday, July 24, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. – Meet fellow Canadians at our Ice Cream Social, PHP Centre.
- Friday, July 27, 12 noon – Parade of Nations march from International Visitors tent to air show announcer’s area. Come and join.

In addition, the EAA Canadian Council will again man an information desk in the Members Welcome Centre throughout the week. Stop by to see us, to leave messages for friends, to get answers to questions, and to enjoy each other’s company.
I would be very happy to meet Canadian subscribers to this newsletter at Oshkosh. Just leave me a message at the Canadian bulletin board in the International tent, or call my cell at 450.330.2160.
