EAA Canadian Council Report
By Jack Dueck, Chairman - EAA Canadian Council, EAA 337912
As you may know, the Canadian Council was revitalized and rebuilt in 2008 to offer liaison between EAA Headquarters and our membership. The council is comprised of five members. Current members are:
- Denis Browne, Campbell River, BC, dbrowne1@telus.net
- Jack Dueck, High River, AB, cgyrv@yahoo.com
- Paul Dyck, Winnipeg, MN, cgirp@mts.net
- Lloyd Richards, Timmins ON, lloyd@richardsmoving.ca
- Ed Lubitz, Bright, ON, edwardlubitz@gmail.com
We are strategically located across Canada and are here to serve our members. Please feel free to contact any one of us with questions or concerns related to EAA and its Canadian members.
We have been active since our reorganization to bring Canada to the forefront at Oshkosh. In 2010 we established a Canadian entity recognized as such at EAA. This puts Canadian members on the same footing as Homebuilt, Vintage, Ultralight, and Warbirds. We enlist volunteers to help our interests at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, and these volunteers receive the same benefits as others. We manned our own kiosk and established the very successful Ice Cream Social for the last three years.
In addition we established the well-received monthly Bits and Pieces e-newsletter. The publication also provides an opportunity for you to voice your opinions and communicate with other Canadian EAA enthusiasts.
In 2010 we introduced the C-PLAN Insurance program for our members. Many of you have taken advantage of reduced insurance costs for your aircraft.
EAA is again promoting what our members have always stood for: grassroots recreational aviation. With the dedication and efforts of staff and volunteers, this will continue to happen. Meanwhile, I invite EAA members to communicate any questions or comments with council members via the e-mail addresses above. We are here to serve you.
