AirVenture Canadian Tent a Huge Success
By Ian Brown, Editor - Bits and Pieces, EAA 657159
After our first year with our own tent and forum space, we are pleased to be able to report that it was everything we had hoped for. The forums were well attended - as strong as the other forums in the plaza. Lots of folks turned out for the ice cream social (until the weather threatened to blow us over). Everyone evacuated quickly to more substantial buildings; but then the storm parted and the Oshkosh magic worked its charm once again.
Jack Dueck presents MD-RA Inspection Talk.
Since there are at least 500 Canadians who register at the International Tent each year, and maybe triple that who actually attend EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, there has always been a significant group of us to support special forums. There are many aspects of flying homebuilts in Canada that are unique, just as there are in other countries. Since so many Canadians attend AirVenture in Oshkosh, having our own modest forum space works well.
We owe a debt of gratitude to Jack Dueck for not only arranging our own space at AirVenture but also for the number of presentations he did.
