Title: Promotional Copywriter

Summary
The Promotional Copywriter is responsible for the internal copy development of all marketing communications materials, including advertising, brochures, collateral, point-of-sale, web promotions, newsletters, annual report, and other promotional projects as assigned. All writing should conform to, and be consistent with, EAA’s corporate brand voice.
Position Roles and Responsibilities
- Work with EAA’s in-house marketing services team to create and produce innovative and targeted advertising and marketing copy and messages for EAA’s membership, prospective members, and other stakeholder audiences
- As a member of the marketing services team, work with EAA’s internal business unit clients to develop marketing and product positioning messages
- Develop and recommend creative copy concepts for new, as well as existing, marketing communications programs that achieve EAA business unit’s established strategic objectives while adhering to corporate style guidelines.
- Consistently deliver clear, concise, credible copy that is on-target with the marketing strategy.
- Sell concepts to program managers by articulating how those concepts meet the brand’s strategic marketing objectives.
- Work closely with graphic design team from concept to completion and effectively communicate to internal clients.
- Translate product and service positioning objectives into compelling, benefit-driven copy optimized for delivery through various marketing channels, including space advertising, direct mail, e-mail, and web.
- Position may at times provide direction and input to outside design firms or agencies that are involved in outsourced EAA work.
Position Qualifications
- College Degree (BS/BA) in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or an equivalent field. Direct experience will be considered in lieu of education.
- 3 to 5 years of creative copywriting experience required
- Demonstrated track record of strong creative writing and marketing conceptualization skills
- Prior experience working with or in an advertising agency or in an in-house marketing department preferred.

- The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic strategic thinker with a passion for clarity, quality, and consistency that can easily collaborate with designers and clients to brainstorm effective marketing messages. He or she will have excellent messaging, writing, and project management skills and be able to work under pressure in a high-production environment.

- Must have the ability to convey the company’s brand and positioning through simple, effective phrases with a style that is clear, fresh, and concise.
