Open Position - Director, Corporate Communications

The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) is seeking a Director of Corporate Communications that will help to deliver the message of EAA’s mission to “Share the Spirit of Aviation”.  As the leader of the Communications function, this position is responsible for developing and managing integrated communications strategy and messaging and coordinating execution across all communication channels, managing and developing relationships with key media, managing the government relations advocacy communications process, and collaborating with key internal stakeholders to ensure consistency of messaging and impact.  In addition, this position, along with the Communications staff will write and edit press releases and contribute news items and story ideas for inclusion in EAA publications.

This position typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, PR, Communications or related field.  An advanced degree is a plus.  A combination of education and experience may be considered.  A minimum of ten (10) years demonstrated related experience that includes management background is required.  The ideal candidate will be an accomplished writer for the media, be able to build and sustain positive business relationships internally and externally and be organized with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with tight deadlines to completion.  Must be proficient with MS Office applications and be capable of leveraging various media distribution technologies.  An aviation background or familiarity with EAA is preferred.
