Open Position - Senior Staff Accountant

SUMMARY

This position assists the Financial Reporting Manager and Controller in the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly financial reports. This person will work closely with other finance team members to assist in month-end closing process. The individual will also be actively involved in various annual projects including: AirVenture, audit preparation and tax schedule completion.

POSITION ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares month end journal entries to support proper transaction reporting for EAA and related divisions and affiliates.
• Prepares monthly financial statements for various EAA divisions and affiliates.
• Maintains audit trail of all activities involving the general ledger.
• Prepares account reconciliations, schedules, and analysis.
• Analyzes income and expense accounts compared to established budgets, noting reasons for variances, projecting future impact, and recommending opportunities for improvement.
• Provide information and assistance to other Finance Department staff as needed.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of related General Ledger experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and/or Aptify Software a plus.
• Ability to keep sensitive information confidential.
• Ability to complete and resolve assigned complex account reconciliations independently.
