YOUNG EAGLE MAKES HISTORY |
| Sixteen
year-old Tyler Whitney, of Fenwick, Michigan, probably
never looked at himself as an aviation pioneer. He is
one, however, as he became the first EAA Young Eagle to
pass his FAA Private Pilot written test by using the
Sporty's Complete Pilot Training Course now offered free
to all Young Eagles. Read

CHAPTER PROGRAM IDEAS
|
|
In every chapter there comes a
time when you ask, "What are we going to talk about
at the meeting this month?" Over the years, we have compiled
a list of topics that have worked for various
chapters. We keep adding to that list during each Chapter
Leaders Academy. Take a look at the latest list of
potential program ideas. And here's a bonus idea -
"Survival Course" - found on the EAA Chapter
1126 (Timmins, Ontario) website. Don't
forget EAA's Speakers Bureau. |

SOUP'S ON!
|
|
Name the one element that
seems to be a part of every EAA chapter event. Of course,
it's food! What better way to bring your chapter together
than to build a grill that can be used to fulfill that
need? EAA Chapter
902 sent us these plans last year. Recently we have
had some requests to reprint them. It's a fairly simple
project, but one that can bring your members together.
Let's eat!

I NEED A LOGO
|
|
There are many ways chapters
can use the official EAA logo: in newsletters, banners, on
the chapter website, or promotional materials. If you need
a high-quality reproduction of the logo, it is as close as
your computer. Click
here to review the logo policy and then download the

available to anyone looking for aviation activities. Take
advantage of this free tool to promote your chapter's
events. The calendar page is consistently in the top five
most visited pages and scores high in many web searches.
Entering the information is easy, too, and it takes only a
couple of minutes. People can't attend your meetings or
support your events if they don't know how to find you. Click

INTERNATIONAL LEARN TO FLY
DAY
|
|
May 15, 2010, is your chance
to rally your chapter to introduce flying into someone’s
life. How you participate is up to you. Do you know
someone who is interested in airplanes? Take them for an
orientation flight or introduce them to a flight
instructor. Invite the general public to the airport for
an open house where you can share your passion for flight.
The possibilities are endless.
When you have your plan in
place, don’t forget to submit it to the EAA Calendar of
Events. We’ve even added a special tag for Learn to Fly
Day, so everyone will know that your May 15 event is part
of the celebration. Read

and set up camp in the North 40 . . . or volunteer
together in a certain area. We'd like to hear what you
have planned. Drop Nadia Farr a note at nfarr@eaa.org.
