Work With Me to Help Grow Aviation
By Jeff Skiles, EAA 336120
EAA Vice President of Chapters and Youth Education
March 20, 2012 - EAA recently reshaped to align our resources with the strategic priorities, one notably being fulfilling our mission of growing participation in aviation. As a result, this created an opportunity to add important capabilities, one of which is a new position that I hope many of you are interested in - Manager, Chapters and Eagle Flights.
As the name implies, the person in this new position will primarily be responsible for chapter initiatives and continuing the work of developing and supporting EAA's Eagle Flights program. The Manager, Chapters and Eagle Flights, will work closely with our incomparable chapter coordinator Brenda Anderson to serve the needs of our chapter network. This is a full-time position working in Oshkosh for the greatest aviation organization on earth.
Eligible candidates will have a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, plus a pilot certificate (CFI preferred). This is a direct report to me and I would hope to fill this position internally, either from EAA employees or from the ranks of our membership.
The No. 1 directive from the EAA board of directors is for EAA staff to actively engage our membership. The Manager, Chapters and Eagle Flights, will travel to chapter events and provide a direct connection between our membership and headquarters. Membership outreach is a major focus for EAA moving forward.
I invite all of you in our membership to consider joining EAA staff here in Oshkosh. Interested individuals can e-mail a resume to HR@eaa.org. Hope to hear from you soon!
