Eagle Flights Kicks Off at AirVenture!
July 10, 2012 - The new EAA Eagle Flights program will officially kick off at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24, when EAA President/CEO Rod Hightower departs Phillips 66 Plaza in his North American T-6 along with Diane Thornton, the national director of Learning For Life.
Once this flight takes place, any chapter or member can conduct an Eagle Flight with the proper forms filled out as you have done with Young Eagles flights.
Forms and promotional materials will be available at the Learn to Fly Discovery Center, across from the EAA Welcome Center, during AirVenture. For those not attending AirVenture, forms and promotional materials will be available to order online or by calling 800-557-2376. Information packets and registration forms can be mailed.
Several chapters have asked if they can perform Eagle Flights prior to this date. Chapters will be able to conduct Eagle Flights after July 24 with the proper paperwork completed.
With the Eagle Flights program being a more one-on-one experience, Young Eagles coordinators will be relied upon to keep informed about the program and EAA headquarters will refer persons interested in an Eagles Flight to the coordinator.
If you would like to designate someone else in your chapter, please contact Trevor Janz, EAA manager of chapters and Eagle Flights, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 920-426-5914.
Thanks for your chapter's continued efforts in growing aviation!
