It's an exciting time of year here at the chapter office, with many new chapter leaders contacting us for the first time, asking for tips and ideas on how to successfully grow their chapters. We've also been busy over the past several months processing chapter renewals and embarking on a few new projects that will support and engage our chapter network.
One of those new projects is the Monthly Chapter Video Magazine, which will launch on May 1. We have frequently heard from chapter leaders that finding interesting topics for meetings each month is difficult, particularly in rural or remote areas. The chapter video magazine aims to address that, offering a new way to help you maintain a dynamic, entertaining schedule of monthly meetings.
So, what exactly is it, you ask? The chapter video magazine is a video presentation that you'll be able to download each month and then show at your chapter meetings. The format will include a feature presentation as well as several shorter segments such as Inside EAA, Volunteer Spotlights, Project Patrols, Hints for Homebuilders, Hangar Treasures, Beyond the Ropes Museum Tours, and much more. Our goal is that these videos will enrich your meetings, inspire, and help grow participation in your chapter and in aviation.
The entire presentation will be 20 to 25 minutes long, which leaves room for chapter business or other presentations, but can also be used as the main program. The videos can be shown at chapter meetings using a projector and sound system or on a TV or computer for smaller groups. Internet access at the meeting is not necessary since the videos can be downloaded ahead of time.
We will email all chapter officers soon with detailed instructions on how to download and view a "teaser video" of what's to come. Then, on May 1, we will email that same group a web link and password to download the first chapter video magazine. We ask that you make these videos a part of your monthly chapter meetings, beginning in May.
