Chapter Spotlight: FAA Safety Team Lauds EAA Chapter 723, Camarillo, California
We recently received a copy of a letter sent to EAA Chapter 723 praising its members for their longtime sponsorship of FAAST seminars. The letter speaks for itself, so here it is.
I am the FAA Safety Team (FAAST) program manager for the Van Nuys and Riverside Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) areas. The FAASTeam mission is to improve the nation's safety record by conveying safety principles and practices through outreach and education.
I wanted to take some time to acknowledge the Camarillo Airport EAA Chapter 723. EAA Chapter 723, over the course of many years, has provided the support, resources, and talent that have allowed FAAST to accomplish its focus on aviation safety through a partnership of government, organizations, and individuals. There have been numerous times that EAA Chapter 723 sponsored FAAST aviation safety seminars and events. In particular, for at least the past four years, the FAASTeam sponsors a National Safety Stand Down (SSD) with local SSD outreaches. EAA Chapter 723 has provided their venue location, chapter members, and equipment for any and all assistance as necessary. It's especially important to note that all the support was established on a volunteer basis. The SSDs traditionally attract a pilot audience of 100 to 150-plus.
The FAASTeam understands that entities such as EAA Chapter 723 give student and professional aviators a positive environment for learning, support, friendship, and leadership. It is with great appreciation that the FAASTeam extends its gratitude to Mr. Tom Ridderbush and the EAA Chapter 723 members.
