AirVenture 2013
AirVenture 2013 - Are You Ready? Less than 100 days until it kicks off!

Important Exhibitor Deadlines

Fire Regulations or Compliance Requirements
Materials used in the construction and decoration of an exhibit must be flame retardant. All tents must be fire retardant and have present a minimum of a 2-1/2 pound Dry Chemical (2A) fire extinguisher is required. All indoor booths must have fire retardant treated table skirting and materials that extent the width of the booth(s). Any companies not using GES or Karl's material in the construction and decoration of their exhibit will be asked by the Fire inspector to show certification of flame resistance. For your convenience we are providing you with a link to the Fire Regulations page of the online Guide and the 2013 Fire Protections Certification Form.

For questions regarding the Fire Regulations or compliance requirements, please contact the Fire Inspector at 920-236-5242 or via their website.

Attendance and Safety
AirVenture advance ticket purchases are off to a solid start, with a bump in sales with every announcement of a new feature or attraction. Look for some major announcements coming in the next few weeks. In addition, there will be great incentives for attendees who purchase their Oshkosh wristbands early.

We've also been receiving questions about the any effect from federal budget sequestration and the proposed closure of the control tower at Oshkosh for year-round operations. We're pleased to report that we expect no adverse effects on the event from those items and AirVenture planning continues as always. You should see no major impact on any aerial activities here. The highest standards of safety and quality will be maintained and we expect full FAA air traffic participation before and during the event. EAA has posted stories on its website directly addressing any effect of sequestration and FAA's proposed closing of controls towers throughout the country. Sean Elliott, EAA's vice president of advocacy and safety, has noted, "It's important for everyone to separate the AirVenture air traffic operations with the year-round activities at Oshkosh. We are continuing to work with FAA officials to ensure that the highest levels of safety and coordination are maintained when Wittman Regional Airport becomes the world's busiest airport during AirVenture."
