A Holiday Message
On behalf of the directors and staff of the Experimental Aircraft Association and the EAA Aviation Foundation I’d like to extend to you and your family our warm holiday wishes. Recent months have been challenging times for all of us. But we look forward to the new year with a renewed passion for aviation's future.
We've made significant progress in restoring our flight privileges and will continue to address the remaining issues. As talk of airspace restrictions leaves our daily conversations, progress on the sport pilot proposal takes its place. As Congress struck legislative language that would have led to the destructive demilitarization of our flying military heritage, the American Society for Testing and Materials reintroduced the specification for 91/98 avgas, which the majority of piston aircraft can use as a replacement for 100LL.
As we celebrate the
season and give thanks for family and friends, I’d like to reaffirm that
your organization is working to protect, promote, and preserve the freedom
of flight, and is preparing for the future, just as it has every day for
nearly a half century.
Next week e-HOT LINE takes a look back at the top stories of 2001 in a special year-end edition.
