EAA SKIPLANE FLY-IN
SET FOR JANUARY 27

Snow or no snow
EAA Skiplane Fly-In
Winter continues to elude the Upper Midwest, but we're holding out hope for adequate snow cover for the annual EAA Skiplane Fly-In January 27. If not, aviation enthusiasts will gather at EAA's Pioneer Airport for some mid-winter fellowship, hot cauldrons of chili, and cake to celebrate Audrey Poberezny's birthday.

Q & A:
Question of the Week
EAA Aviation Services

I can't remember ever being in a cockpit that doesn't have a placard denoting the aircraft's registration number. Generally this placard will appear somewhere in the upper part of the instrument panel. I was reviewing my airplane's placards on its recent condition inspection and although I have one of these placards, I can't find a requirement for an "N-number" placard. Is it just tradition or is it required?

Answer:
There is no requirement for the N number to be displayed on the instrument panel. This is usually done as a convenience for the pilot, but is not required by any regulation or FAA guidance.

How can we help you?
To ask a question regarding government issues, e-mail govt@eaa.org. If you have a question about registration, airmen, aircraft and medical certification, safety records, performance, or any other matter, e-mail infoserv@eaa.org.
