Q & A: Question of the Week
Please provide me with a list of FBOs/Flight Schools that rent
light-sport aircraft in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York.
.
Answer:
While we do not have a specific list of FBOs, we do maintain a
sport pilot instructor database on the EAA
sport pilot website. The database does include a listing
of what aircraft the instructors have available.
How can
we help you? To ask a question regarding government
issues, e-mail govt@eaa.org.
If you have a question about registration, airmen, aircraft
and medical certification, safety records, performance, or any
other matter, e-mail infoserv@eaa.org.

One of the most popular,
longstanding air show attractions is the AeroShell Aerobatic
Team, which fly North American T-6 Texan advanced trainers.
When these powerful airplanes are in the air, there's no
mistaking the sound of four 600 hp Pratt & Whitney Wasp
engines growling in unison. EAA volunteer photographer Dennis
Biela took this image from EAA AirVenture 2006.

PILOT INPUT
SOUGHT ON ADS-B
The FAA has tasked
the MIT International Center for Air Transportation to
identify potential ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance -
Broadcast) applications that would benefit flight operations.
ADS-B is an alternative to radar where aircraft broadcast
their altitude, heading, GPS-driven position, and other
information to ground stations and other aircraft. The ADS-B
datalink can also be used to uplink weather and traffic
information to the cockpit. MIT asks pilots for their input
through an online survey, regardless of prior knowledge of
ADS-B. Complete the survey on the MIT
website.
