Happy 60th USAF!
The U.S. Air Force brings its "Heritage to Horizons" exhibit
to EAA AirVenture this year to mark its 60th anniversary. More than 30
displays fill a 10,000-square-foot pavilion on the grounds, recognizing
the notable people and aircraft that have been part of the USAF’s
first 60 years. In addition, the Air Force Recruiting Command will
return to Oshkosh with its popular "Cross Into The Blue"

houses International Federal Partnership agencies
The International Federal Partnership (IFP) will have a record 17
government agencies represented at EAA AirVenture’s Federal Pavilion
this year. The agencies come from Canada, the Bahamas and the United

Compass Hill
rededication ceremony planned for Wednesday
EAA AirVenture Oshkosh attendees are invited to take part in a special
rededication ceremony at EAA’s Compass Hill, Wednesday, July 25,
beginning at 10 a.m. Compass Hill is a symbol of the love of flight
passed down through the generations. This will become an annual event

Expanded KidVenture
relocates to Pioneer Airport
For the past eight years, EAA’s KidVenture has provided untold
thousands of children with delightful, educational aviation experiences
at its customary location, in the big white tent directly behind the
AirVenture Museum. There’s never been much room for expansion,
however, and the road bordering its eastern edge has created occasional
bottlenecks of buses, gators, golf carts, and other vehicles. Read

TL3000 Sirius LSA
SportairUSA, the North American distributor of the TL 2000 StingSport S-LSA,
will preview a cabin model of the new TL 3000 Sirius at EAA AirVenture.
The high-wing Sirius, manufactured in the Czech Republic, will be
constructed of the same carbon fiber composite materials as the
StingSport, and powered by the Rotax 912 engine series. The aircraft
sports a 48" cabin, and includes room for golf clubs in the back.

Morning 12-step meetings
at Nature Center
The 12 Step High Meeting, Friends o fBill W. and Lois, will gather daily
through Sunday, July 29, at the EAA Nature Center under the
big white tent. Coffee and fellowship is from 7-8 a.m.,
followed by an open meeting. The 12 Step High Meeting celebrates
its 20th anniversary on Saturday, July 28, with a special speaker and

More than 100 presentations will be featured as part of the Museum
Speaker Showcase at the EAA AirVenture Museum this week. Here’s your

EAA AirVenture’s first-ever concert band, under the direction of
director Elton L. Eisele, will perform on Wednesday, July 25, to open
that evening’s program at Theater
in the Woods. Eisele put out the call this past spring for musician
members to sign up and play at AirVenture and soon discovered that

SHOW’ to broadcast live on Wednesday
Attention, early risers… CBS The Early Show weatherman Dave Price
will be broadcasting live from the World’s Greatest Aviation
Celebration on Wednesday morning, July 25, and the producers of the show
are inviting EAAers on the grounds to be a part of the action. If
you’d like to be a part of the broadcast, you have to get up bright
and early to be at AeroShell Square at 5:30 a.m. You might just be able
to wave to your unfortunate friends at home who weren’t able to make
it to Oshkosh this year. The producers asked that those intending to

Aviation contributor Jim Busha to receive Bax Seat Trophy tonight
EAA Publications contributing writer James P. Busha will receive the
2007 Bax Seat Trophy tonight at a special ceremony in the EAA AirVenture
Museum. The award, established in 1997, is presented by Flying Magazine
in honor of that magazine’s columnist, Gordon Baxter, and is given
annually to the EAA member who perpetuates Baxter’s tradition of
communicating the excitement and romance of grass-roots aviation. Read

announce 2nd generation airplane
CubCrafters will debut an all new, second generation light sport
airplane on Tuesday at 1:15 p.m. at EAA Press Headquarters. By
incorporating the very latest safety features, construction materials

utility, and performance in light sport aircraft while being fully
compliant with all LSA certification regulations, the company says.
Dan Patterson to sign
books at National Aviation Heritage Area Booth
Famed aviation photographer Dan Patterson will be signing copies of his
latest photography books inside the National Aviation Heritage Booth at
Air Venture. The booth is located at 1045-46 in Hangar ‘A’. Dan will
be in the booth on Thursday, July 26, from 9 to 11 a.m., and from 2 to 4
p.m., and on Friday morning, July 27, from 9 to 11 a.m. Read

NASA’s exhibit at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2007 contrasts four centuries
of ingenuity—from the Jamestown colony in Virginia to the habitat
envisioned for the next humans who set foot on the moon. What’s the
