EAAers Coordinate Relief Efforts for Sandy Victims
Last week's call to action from AEROBridge asked GA pilots to get involved in the relief effort for victims of Superstorm Sandy, and we're pleased to report that GA has and continues to make a difference for the still-hurting folks caught in the storm's path. Plane-SUV Collision Caught on Video
A dramatic video making the rounds this week shows an airplane colliding with an SUV right before landing at the Northwest Regional Airport in Roanoke, Texas. The collision, which sheared off the aircraft's landing gear, occurred when the SUV failed to yield to the landing Cessna where a road crosses the start of the runway. Although "stop" appears on the roadway and there is a sign instructing drivers to yield to approaching aircraft, the driver claims to not have seen the airplane. Watch video >>

Like many pilots I'm still a sucker for aviation-themed movies. Hollywood has never failed to disappoint me with a flying movie, but still, for some silly reason, I hope for better. When Flight with Denzel Washington was released last weekend there was a lot of hype, at least some good reviews, and a big budget. Maybe, finally, a movie could get the flying parts right.

Zenith Blog Update ZENITH 750 PROJECT BLOG: Trim Tab and the Elevator Meets the Horizontal Stabilizer
The tail section, or empennage, of EAA's Zenith STOL CH 750 E-LSA staff building project is nearing completion, which will allow the team to move onto the wings. Then, just as they were about to mate the elevator to the horizontal stabilizer, a small problem was discovered.

AirVenture 2012 DVD AirVenture 2012 DVD Coming Soon
The EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2012 DVD is done and disks are now being duplicated, with anticipated mailing of preordered copies the week after Thanksgiving. The 74-minute video, which is one of the longest AirVenture DVDs in several years, features all of this year's highlights, including the Piper Cub's 75th anniversary, the salute to the greatest generation in the air, and the launch of the EAA Eagle Flights program.

In addition, there's plenty of homebuilt coverage, such as the 40th anniversary of the Van's RV aircraft and two youth-built homebuilts, plus in-flight footage, the Night Air Show, and much more. EAA Insurance EAA Announces New Accidental Death/Dismemberment Insurance Coverage
EAA is now helping aviators make sure they are covered when they fly as well as at times when they may not be in the air. Announcing the EAA Personal Insurance Plan - accidental death/dismemberment coverage that picks up where traditional life insurance stops. The plan includes nearly all aviation and non-aviation activities at a fraction of the cost of amending existing life insurance. It also applies to pilots flying any aircraft with an FAA airworthiness certificate, including amateur-builts and light-sport aircraft. Read more >>

Mike Stewart, Team RV founder and flight lead, said the new name better communicates the high-entertainment nature of the team's precision formation aerobatic performance.
