Paper FAA Certificates to Expire March 31
March 31 signals the end of an era, as the last paper airmen certificates become invalid that day. Those include FAA certificates for A&P mechanic, repairman, flight engineer, and ground instructor, meaning that if you only have a paper certificate, you are not eligible to exercise those privileges until you receive a new, plastic certificate from the FAA. To help decipher the alphabet soup of FAA acronyms, North Star Group LLC has released a free FAA acronyms mobile web app. Search for many of the most commonly used FAA acronyms, or submit one to NSG that can be added to the database. Egimotors Announces 140- to 280-hp Airplane/Rotary Wing Engine
Another aviation engine has emerged from Italy, the Egimotors EGM4x4, introduced February 2 in Modena, Italy. The first batch will initially be used for the company's MC-1 helicopter project, but Egimotors owner Egidio Motta said the engines are also designed for use in light-sport and experimental aircraft, autogyros, hovercraft, and air boats.
