Barring a sudden display of bipartisanship in Washington, it is becoming apparent that implications of the federal budget sequestration will begin to occur on Friday. Read more >> M U L T I M E D I A Howard Hughes' Sikorsky S-43 to Fly Again Kermit Weeks, new owner of Howard Hughes' historic Sikorsky S-43H flying boat (N-440), traveled to Brazoria County Airport, Texas, last month to find out what the aircraft needed to be ferried. After a thorough inspection, it was decided to disassemble and truck it back to Florida. The S-43 will be on display as parts are being restored. It seems logical that the FAA could close the least used towers and move those controllers to the really busy centers, approach control facilities, and towers. But it doesn't work that way.
