NOTAM Download Your 2013 AirVenture NOTAM Today
The EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2013 Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) is now available for download. The NOTAM, which is in effect from 6 a.m. Friday, July 26, through noon on Monday, August 5, outlines procedures for all aircraft that fly to Oshkosh for the event, as well as the aircraft that land and depart at nearby airports. Oshkosh Welcomes Aviation Innovators
Oshkosh is the home of aviation innovation, and this year EAA has established a new location to showcase new ideas, technologies, and products that advance aviation. Called the Innovations Pavilion, it will be located right in the middle of the show on Celebration Way. Annual Member Meeting EAA Annual Member Meeting Moves to July 31
To allow more EAA members to attend their annual membership meeting at AirVenture, which is also our annual convention, EAA's annual meeting has been moved to Wednesday, July 31, at 8:30 a.m. at Theater in the Woods. The annual meeting had traditionally been held on Saturday morning at the fly-in. Read more >>

AirVenture Cup New Starting Line, More Classes for EAA AirVenture Cup
EAA AirVenture Cup Race officials announced a new starting point - Mount Vernon (Illinois) Airport (MVN) - for the 2013 AirVenture Cup Race, scheduled for Sunday, July 28. Also announced this week was the addition of several new aircraft classes to allow even more aviators to participate in this fun competition prior to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2013. Read more >>

J. Mac McClellan Blog MAC'S BLOG: Hammered by the Closed Low Aloft
Most of us remember from ground school that air circulates clockwise around a high pressure center and counterclockwise around a low pressure center. The counterclockwise circulation around low pressure gets lots of attention every hurricane season when satellite and radar images show the wind racing around an intense low pressure center. But there is another low pressure system that is not all that common but makes the flying weather over a huge chunk of the country just plain miserable for days, and that is the closed low aloft.

EAA Air Academy Openings for EAA Air Academy Advanced/SportAir Camp
Do you know a young person with a budding interest in homebuilding? Then EAA's Air Academy Advanced/SportAir Camp is for them! This all-new aviation camp, held August 12-18, is designed to interest and challenge youth ages 16-19. Campers will learn basic composite building and fabric covering techniques using hands-on applications in the workshop.
