J. Mac McClellan Blog MAC'S BLOG: Private Aviation + Public School = Success
A group of aviation enthusiasts led by Dick DeVos of Amway has created an unusual, perhaps totally unique, public high school in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It is the West Michigan Aviation Academy, now in its third year of operation. The WMAA slogan is "A High School Where Attitude Meets Altitude." International Learn to Fly Day Don't Forget to 'Fly One' for International Learn to Fly Day

Tyler Voss Chapter to Finish Fallen Member's Plane
A special project is occurring at the EAA Chapter 79 hangar on Spokane, Washington's Felts Field. About a dozen chapter members are working to complete panel work on the RV-8 owned by a fellow member, United States Air Force Capt. Tyler Voss, who was tragically killed along with two other airmen when their KC-135 Stratotanker crashed on May 3 in Kyrgyzstan. Read more >>

GAMA Issues Upbeat First Quarter Report
The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) has released figures for the industry's airplane first quarter shipment and billings, showing a positive increase in all sectors. "We are very pleased to see a shift to the positive for GA airplanes, which extends across all airplane segments, for the first quarter of 2013," said GAMA President/CEO Pete Bunce. Read more >>
