It's been quite a while since a Waco 9 biplane has been to the annual EAA fly-in convention. In fact, Oshkosh has never seen one; it was Rockford 1962 when Marion McClure flew his 1926 model to that year's fly-in.

Honor Flight First Honor Flight for Vietnam Vets Set for AirVenture
Since 2009, Old Glory Honor Flight Inc. has operated 17 flights of World War II veterans from Northeastern Wisconsin to Washington, D.C., memorials built in their honor. Three of those flights departed Wittman Regional Airport during EAA AirVenture, with the veterans returning to a heroes' welcome from AirVenture attendees. Read more >>

J. Mac McClellan Blog MAC'S BLOG: The Autopilot Problem
We have an autopilot problem and most of the blame for it belongs to the FAA. Last week FAA Administrator Michael Huerta acknowledged the autopilot issue, noted that autopilots can be a safety aid, and said the FAA would do something to solve the problem. The autopilot problem is that the FAA regulations have almost totally restricted an airplane owner's choice for installing an autopilot in a certified airplane.
