Lark Harkens: Reproduction of World's First Airliner Coming to Oshkosh
A reproduction of the airplane that flew the world's first scheduled airline service will be on prominent display in the Vintage area at AirVenture Oshkosh 2013. The Benoist (pronounced BEN-wah) Type XIV is a biplane flying boat being recreated for the Duluth Aviation Institute in Hangar 10 at Duluth, Minnesota's Sky Harbor Airport. Read more >>

Jetman Plenty of Chances to See Jetman Fly in Oshkosh
Here's one for the AirVenture checklist: Yves "Jetman" Rossy, the world's first jet-powered man who is making his first public United States flights at Oshkosh this year, will perform his awesome flying demonstrations on Tuesday, July 30; Thursday, August 1; Saturday, August 3; and Sunday, August 4. J. Mac McClellan Blog MAC'S BLOG: Nexrad Weather Radar Fakery
Our TV cable system has a channel that continuously shows the Nexrad weather radar while the audio is the drone of the NOAA weather broadcast. What is revealing about the TV cable Nexrad display is that it is a fake. Well, fake may be too strong of a word, but it is misleading. Zenith Blog Update ZENITH BLOG: Another Achievement: Main Gear Attached
EAA's Zenith 750 build team worked diligently - and late - at this week's session to get the main gear attached to the fuselage. Although the airplane is not yet resting on the main gear, this marks a significant accomplishment as the team works toward finishing the LSA, which will be used by members of the EAA Employee Flying Club.

EAA's International Young Eagles Day Is June 8
Thousands of young people will take to the sky on Saturday, June 8, as EAA volunteers continue an outstanding aviation tradition - International Young Eagles Day. The 20th annual event brings together kids and pilots as part of the EAA Young Eagles program, the largest, most successful youth aviation education program ever created. Since its founding in 1992, EAA's Young Eagles program has provided more than 1.7 million free flights to young people age 8-17 around the world through the efforts of 45,000 volunteer pilots and 50,000 ground volunteers.
