Musician, vocalist, and paraglider pilot John Vining will serve as master of ceremonies for an open mic and musical jam session set for 8 p.m. Thursday, August 1, in the forum tent next to the Ultralight Barn. Vining will be joined by members of the Flying Musicians Association (FMA).

Just hop onto the RideShare page, where you can view all the rides offered and all the rides requested. Or use the "Quick Search" buttons to focus your search, or search by state.

If you wish to post your information and have a ride to offer, or are looking for a ride, click the "Offer/Request a Ride" link to fill out a form with your information. Your personal information will not be shown on these pages. Instead, a link to contact you is provided. An e-mail will be sent to you from the interested party, and it is your option to reply or contact that party.

ERAU to Host Seventh Annual Luncheon at AirVenture
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University will host its seventh annual Lunch With Embry-Riddle during AirVenture on Friday, August 2, for those interested in pursuing careers in aviation and aerospace. Participants will dine with university administrators and students, and hear presentations on 21st-century aviation opportunities. Registration opens at 11:30 a.m. on August 2, followed by lunch from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Founders' Wing inside EAA AirVenture Museum. Register and learn more >>

Stancie and I were talking the other evening about how every woman we know asks her guy, "What were you thinking?" after some event doesn't go well. Women hate our response, which is invariably some version of, "I didn't think that would happen." That answer usually generates a repeat of the first question as she searches for some deeper understanding. But the guy is being totally truthful; nobody, not even we guys, blows themselves up on purpose. We just didn't think that was going to happen.

Zenith Blog Update Zenith Blog: Lift Struts, Rudder Pedals, and Seats!
With July 29 fast approaching, the Zenith crew's primary goal was the lift struts so they could get the aircraft mobile and move it to the Homebuilders Hangar for AirVenture. The crew also worked on the rudder pedals and the seats. The Zenith gang shot a video update, which will soon be posted to the blog. We're really making progress!

Small Airplane Revitalization Act Clears First Hurdle
The House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure on Wednesday unanimously passed the Small Airplane Revitalization Act (H.R. 1848), a measure designed to modernize and revamp the regulatory structure for small, certificated Part 23 aircraft.
