Jack Pelton Missions Accomplished at AirVenture 2013
When EAA Chairman Jack Pelton took to the podium for his annual wrap-up press conference in Oshkosh Sunday, he listed the seven key objectives EAA had heading into this year. He was pleased to say that all of them were accomplished, and that AirVenture was a tremendous success. Read more >>

Young Eagles Raffle Winner Angel on Shoulder of Young Eagles Raffle Winner
An angel on Maryann Meighan-Riebe's shoulder Sunday put her into a 2014 Ford Mustang GT convertible. Meighan-Riebe of Aurora, Colorado, took home the grand prize as the winner of the 2013 Young Eagles Raffle. EAA Chairman Jack Pelton announced the three lucky sweepstakes winners during a live drawing on Phillips 66 Plaza on Sunday afternoon at Oshkosh. Read more >>

Sean D. Tucker Your New Young Eagles Chairman, Sean D. Tucker
Aerobatic legend Sean D. Tucker was named the new EAA Young Eagles chairman during AirVenture, replacing Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger and Jeff Skiles, who stepped down after four years as co-chairs. Tucker is ready to hit the ground running, referring to the position as "my second full-time job." As spokesman, he'll help guide the agenda for the program that aims to get youth hooked on aviation by offering free flights with EAA volunteer pilots. Read more >>

CARTS Program: A Double Dose of Charity
As AirVenture continues to grow, trips from places like the South 40 to Warbirds in Review or KidVenture to the Ultralights runway can be quite a trek. For the past few years, EAA has been offering the CARTS program to help transport guests who may have luggage, a physical ailment, or simply a really long walk to make. Read more >>

J. Mac McClellan Blog MAC'S BLOG: The Best Oshkosh Ever? I Say Yes
It may be too bold to call this the best AirVenture Oshkosh ever, but can you remember a better one? I can't. The weather has been as close to perfect as anybody could ask for, and that is a crucial but uncontrollable element of any Oshkosh. I also think we are finally seeing an upturn in the overall economy. After five years of recession, economic indicators are pointing up, the stock market is setting records, interest rates are low, and inflation is tiny. That ray of economic light is also shining on aviation.

Oshkosh Air Maneuvers Challenge Oshkosh Air Maneuvers Challenge Set for August 23
The skies above Oshkosh won't be empty for long, as the Oshkosh Air Maneuvers Challenge is taking place at Wittman Regional Airport on August 23-25. International Aerobatic Club Chapter 1, of northern Illinois, is putting on the regional aerobatic competition. Read more >>

Wisconsin Governor presses DOT Secretary on ATC Fees
During last weekend's National Governors Association joint committee meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker urged Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx Saturday to look into lifting the $447,000 fee assessed by the FAA for air traffic control services at AirVenture this year, according to a report in wispolitics.com. EAA B-17 Tour B-17 Heads Back Out on Tour
The B-17 Aluminum Overcast is back on tour after a fun and successful week at AirVenture. Anyone who didn't get the chance to come to AirVenture can at least get a taste of the amazing week when Aluminum Overcast starts its post-Oshkosh tour of the Midwest and East Coast on Friday at Purdue University Airport in Lafayette, Indiana. Healthy Rise Seen in Aircraft Shipments
Sales figures released this week by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) show an 8.9 percent increase in total worldwide airplane shipments over 2012 for the first half of 2013, with total billings of $10.4 billion, or 26.4 percent over the same period last year. Read more >>
