Aviation Gateway Park, formerly known as College Park, is a newly interactive and engaging experience that has been reimagined as a gateway to aviation. Here attendees will discover the possibilities in innovation and education as well as careers in aviation and network with partners in the aviation community. Three main structures, outlined below, will be the focus of many new activities. A plaza area between the venues will be a popular gathering place and home for some of the returning activities. Visit Aviation Gateway Park to see these attractions and more. Aviation Gateway Park also features green space and air conditioned areas, with plenty of room to meet friends and connect with fellow aviation enthusiasts.

NEW IN 2015! Drone Cage presented by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
An exciting addition to AirVenture this year is the 30 foot drone cage. In addition to seeing unique demonstrations by the participating manufacturers of Aviation Gateway Park, you will also get the chance to fly an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) yourself. Try it out for the first time or practice some skills to use in the obstacle course or speed course contest taking place daily from 3 to 5 p.m. Bring your own machine or use one of the quadcopters donated by Horizon Hobby LLC and Hobbico. If you don’t want to fly, take part in the action by observing the flights from the 360-degree viewing areas and bleacher seating with a live feed provided by Multicopter Warehouse. If that isn’t enough drone action, observe the free flight taking place from 7-10 p.m. nightly on the grass runway at Pioneer Airport.
