International Visitors Tent/Translation Services

Each year, thousands of visitors from countries all over the world come to AirVenture. Some nations are represented by a lone participant, others by hundreds of aviation enthusiasts. There are AirVenture visitors from every continent except Antarctica. Some of them fly their own airplanes to Oshkosh, while others may travel in large tourist groups or official government entourages. All of these visitors add an international sparkle and an understanding that aviation is truly a universal language.

For these international guests, the International Visitors Tent offers assistance from friendly volunteers and a place to relax during all the activities.

At the International Visitors Tent, guests receive information about AirVenture or the surrounding area. Nearly 30 volunteer interpreters, speaking dozens of languages, assist visitors who have questions on the convention, housing, restaurants, shopping, or any other questions they may have.

The International Visitors Tent keeps a running tally of how many guests have registered from each country. These registration books can help guests find friends who have already arrived at AirVenture. Guests can also leave notes for each other on the message boards. The International Visitors Tent is a gathering place - a 'home away from home' - thanks to its central location on the grounds and its relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

An international highlight of EAA AirVenture is the annual Parade of Nations on Friday at 12 p.m. Members of each nation's contingent march under their respective flags from the International Visitors Tent to the air show announcers' area, where they are welcomed to the event by EAA officials.
