July 3, 2014 –FAA Aviation Safety Inspectors John Soltis and Kym Robbins presented a special light-sport aircraft (S-LSA) airworthiness certificate to Quicksilver Aeronautics President and CEO, Will Escutia and COO, Dan Perez on June 26 for the Quicksilver Sport 2SE at the French Valley Airport in Temecula, California. The airworthiness certificate enables the company to begin offering ready to fly models to its dealers.
“We feel very satisfied that the last milestone to complete our S-LSA project has been completed,” Escutia said. “Dan Perez did an outstanding job leading our company team to this achievement.” Escutia confirmed the airplane will appear at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2014.
The company will start using three manufacturing locations in the U.S. now that it has earned FAA acceptance to produce its S-LSA model. Quicksilver’s fully built Sport 2SE is offered at the retail price of $39,999, making it one of the lowest-priced S-LSA models available.
