August 14, 2014 – As Women in Aviation, International staff announced 2014 scholarship winners at the WomenVenture Power Lunch at AirVenture Oshkosh, Pratt & Whitney took the podium to announce the creation of the $10,000 The Pratt & Whitney Canada Women in Engineering Scholarship.
The announcement by Denis Parisien, vice president of general aviation at Pratt & Whitney Canada, was received with a round of applause from the WomenVenture audience, one that consisted of female pilots and aviation enthusiasts ranging in age and experience.
The scholarship is open to any woman living in the U.S. or internationally who is pursing a higher education degree in engineering. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an engineering program or accepted into an engineering program at an accredited university or college. They must have a GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent at the time of application. Deadline for the unique opportunity is August 18, 2014.
