June 4, 2014 - Rosen Sunvisors can be found in nearly all new business jets and now RV owners can have the same technology for their kit airplanes. The new Rosen visors are now available for Vans RV 6-7-9 models with sliding canopies.
The visors use a darkly tinted, transparent lens mounted to a multi-axis swivel system to allow pilots to put the visor between their eyes and the sun glare. Each visor system is custom designed for the specific aircraft and is machined from aircraft quality aluminum that is then anodized with a black finish.
The Rosen visor system allows RV pilots to position the visor lens in the windshield, side window, and overhead. The visor on each side can be positioned independently of the other. There are friction adjustments that can be fine-tuned to keep the visor exactly where you want it. (See video of how the visor operates.)
Average installation time for the Rosen visor in an RV is about 30 minutes. A set of visors for an RV is priced at $440 and can be purchased directly from Rosen or Van’s Aircraft.
