On September 14 I entered my 88th year. One doesn’t realize how fast a birthday arrives, but as children, they couldn’t come fast enough as there was always a present or gift coming. I can get my driver’s license and hopefully a new car or at least an old one.
Fifty six years ago, we founded EAA, though the idea for such a group was in my thoughts for some years prior, and when one views what it has become, and the lives throughout the world it has touched, I must thank all those who have contributed to its being over these many years.
I thought the editorial I wrote for my Homebuilder’s Corner (Sport Aviation, November 1971 issue) may be appropriate for this month’s Experimenter—with special thanks to all who have followed and those who are no longer with us. Time takes its toll.
