CAFE Electric Aircraft Symposium This Month
The future of electric aviation will be discussed, revealed, and conceived at the 4th Annual Comparative Aircraft Flight Efficiency (CAFE) Electric Aircraft Symposium to be held April 23-24 in the Sonoma region of California. Designers, inventors, engineers, and anyone interested will have the opportunity to attend lectures presented by an international faculty of experts on topics related to electric, hybrid, and bio-fuel aircraft.
The list of topics by 24 different experts cover much about batteries, motors, advanced materials, and engineering but also include such subjects as electric drag racing; an electric record-setting motorcycle; and the Electric Swift, an FAR 103 legal ultralight. The CAFE Foundation was established by EAA volunteers in the early 1980s to administer the long-running CAFE 400 races.
CAFE pioneered the development of award-winning instrumentation and software to measure aircraft performance and efficiency. In 1993, EAA funded the building of the CAFE Flight Test Center at CAFE’s home field, Sonoma County Airport.
