New Full Lotus Floats For Trike and FAR103 Ultralights
Full Lotus Mfg. has introduced a new line of lightweight inflatable floats. The new FL950 model is designed for aircraft with a gross weight of up to 1,050 pounds. The floats weigh only 30 pounds each. The hull has a more “rockered” design than their traditional floats; this rocker encourages the float onto the step with little to no input, making it ideal for trike as well as ultralight aircraft applications.
Since its introduction in 1985, the Full Lotus float has become the world’s best-selling float system. First available in a 1,220-pound (555-kilogram) displacement only, the Full Lotus float is now available in eight sizes through 2,600 pounds (1,182 kilograms). The company says their lightweight, tough, and shock-absorbing floats are the preferred choice for pilots who want to have the ability to operate their aircraft without the preoccupation of damaging their floats. Full Lotus floats can bump most submerged objects at taxiing speed without damage. They can be beached on rocky shores without worry.
The new models incorporate all of the proven features of Full Lotus floats:
Durable polymer hull caps
Four airtight compartments
Superior handling due to the hull design
Easy field maintenance and repair
Lightweight and inflatable design ensure minimum weight and maximum shock protection.
