PiperSport and SportCruiser Fly-In Announced

Dick Russ
Dick Russ and PiperSport serial number 004

Dick Russ believes the greatest thing about having a plane to fly is that we get the opportunity to visit places we might never have considered. He has organized the first PiperSport and SportCruiser fly-in to be held in Branson, Missouri, this coming June 3 to 5. A total of 142 aircraft owners have been invited to meet fellow pilots, talk about PiperSports and SportCruisers, go on a gourmet dinner cruise, as well as see the great entertainment that Branson has to offer.

Everyone needs a vacation, and what could be more fun than spending a few days at Branson, Missouri, “Live Music Show Capital of the World” and home of Silver Dollar City, the largest theme park in Mid-America? The fly-in isn’t a promotion of any kind. It’s not a trade show, just an invitational fly-in for pilots to get together and see the great entertainment that Branson has to offer. A dinner show and two-hour cruise is scheduled for everyone on Saturday night.

BransonAirport (KBBG) will be the host airport, and you can learn more about the location at www.BransonJetCenter.com. On Saturday, Dynon Avionics will be there to discuss its systems and operation. In addition, Donato Martino from US Sport Aircraft will talk about warranty work and spare parts, and Dan Johnson of www.ByDanJohnson.com will talk about the world of light-sport aircraft. Lunch on Saturday is courtesy of Piper Flyer Magazine.

There’s no fee for the fly-in, but you’ll need to call for hotel lodging and the dinner cruise. The guest hotel is The Stone Castle Hotel & Conference Center (www.BransonStoneCastleHotel.com) at $69 per night. The Saturday night cruise on the showboat Branson Belle (www.ShowboatBransonBelle.com) includes the show, gourmet dinner, and two-hour cruise for a special price of $50 per guest. Reserve your dinner cruise when making hotel reservations. Rental cars will be available. But supply may be limited, so please contact 1-888-FLY-BKG1 (1-888-359-2541) and reserve your car. Be sure to tell them you are a sport flyer to get the special rate. If you’re planning on attending, call Dick Russ at 405-641-8946 or e-mail dickathome@cox.net.
