RMRFI Looks To Top 2005 Fly-In

March 23, 2006 — Many improvements are in the works for the 28th Rocky Mountain Regional Fly-In (RMRFI), scheduled June 24-25 at Front Range Airport (FTG) in Watkins, Colorado, Expect to see more classic Warbirds--static displays as well as aerial performers-during the fly-in's third year at Front Range.

Those flying in and visiting volunteers receive free camping facilities, plus RMRFI will have a community campfire, evening entertainment, a camp manager, and accommodations for class A motor homes. Nationally recognized aviation artist, Joe Jones, is providing cover art for the 2006 event program. And fine-tuning the overall FTG layout will better accommodate more visitors, volunteers, vendors, and aircraft. With these and other improvements, RMRFI expects to outdo last year's attendance of 13,000.

The Saturday evening awards banquet features guest speaker, Rob "Fusch" Fuschino, Vice President of Operations for Aviation Technology Group, who last September made the first flight of ATG's Javelin very light jet.

Other activities include daily aerobatic air shows, food and aviation venders, workshops and seminars, Young Eagle rides, scale aircraft demonstrations, KidSpace children's activities and various motorcycle and car club exhibits.
