Added Amenities At The Texas Fly-In

March 23, 2006 — Organizers at the Texas Fly-In (Southwest EAA Regional Fly-In) have added several special amenities for visitors to its fast-approaching event May 11-14 at Hondo Airfield, Texas. Among the new fly-in features are new showers for aircraft campers, additional electric hook-ups for recreational vehicle campers, an ATM on the grounds, and wireless Internet access (WiFi) for the exhibitors.

Work began the first week of March on the new showers, located about one hundred yards from the east end of runway 08-26-easy walking distance from the area reserved for aircraft camping. The facility will include 12 stalls, six for women and six for men. These showers will supplement showers in the City of Hondo Recreation Center located about one quarter mile south of aircraft camping.

Free WiFi will be provided on the Hondo Airfield for commercial exhibitors through three different access points to feed signals to a high-speed satellite link.

For more information, including flight approach control, lodging, camping, advance reservations, admission, schedule of events and images from past events, visit www.swrfi.org.
