Rocky Mountain Fly-In Starts Saturday

June 22, 2006 — Colorado's largest aviation event, the Rocky Mountain EAA Regional Fly-In (RMRFI), begins this Saturday at 7 a.m. Volunteers and organizers are busy putting the finishing touches on the facility as more than 15,000 people are expected to attend the two-day event at Front Range Airport in Watkins. Featured attractions include a daily pancake breakfast, two-hour daily air show, aviation exhibits, workshops, and safety seminars, plus Young Eagle flights, scale aircraft demonstrations, KidSpace children's activities and of course, a wide variety of aircraft.

EAA's Ron Wagner, EAA manager of field operations and sport pilot expert, will be on hand to present the latest sport pilot information as well as answer rule and aircraft questions.

Admission is $7 for EAA members and $12 for the non-members. Children 9 and under, as well as parking, are free. For more information, visit www.rmrfi.org or call Jim Cimiluca at 720-323-6784. Pilots who'd like to volunteer for Young Eagle flights should call Brian Cabebe at 303-748-5570.
