September 21, 2006 — iEntertainment Network, the award-winning developer of Warbirds and other premier aerial simulations, has released FLYBOYS Squadron, a computer game based upon the MGM motion picture, FLYBOYS, which had its aviation world premiere at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh and opens nationwide this Friday, September 22. The Flyboys Squadron Demo Download is "try-before-you-buy" and arrangements have been made for EAAers to receive one month of free online access to the entire TotalSims Series of online flying games.
The game includes the most famous aircraft of World War I including Spads, Fokker Dr1's and Nieuport 11, 17 and 27's, rendered terrain, fifteen single player missions, and free access to the MMOG (Massively Multiplayer Online Game) site where you can mix it up with other aviators flying WWI aircraft. Players will experience the excitement of dogfighting as one of the first American fighter pilots as depicted in the Flyboys movie.
The FLYBOYS Squadron MMOG demo includes six WWI aircraft as well as over 70 WWII Aircraft like the P-51 Mustang, B-17 Flying Fortress, and many more in a full online simulation of World War II Flying.
In the single player version, you get to practice gunnery, flying and complete various missions. In the online version, you pit your skills against other online game enthusiasts. When the full Flyboys Squadron is released on October 6, additional features will be available online; including more airships, the Nieuport 17s personalized with the insignias of the characters in the movie, and additional online missions inspired by events in the aerial battles of the movie.
