EAA To Host Rainbow Aviation's LSA Repairman Maintenance Class

April 17 , 2007 — EAA will host Rainbow Aviation's Repairman Maintenance course this fall at EAA's Oshkosh facilities. The airplane Maintenance Rating allows holders to commercially maintain, repair, and perform annual condition inspections and 100-hour inspections on all special-light-sport aircraft. The rating also authorizes holders to perform condition inspections on experimental-LSA in the airplane class. The 120-hour course will be held September 10-28 (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.).

"EAA decided early on that that this class was not something we would offer because it's for people seeking to become professional mechanics," said Charlie Becker, director of EAA Aviation Services. "But we want to do everything we can to make this training available."

Rainbow Aviation is currently the sole FAA-accepted provider for this course, and the class has been available only in California. "Hosting this course allows us to help reduce the cost and make it easier for people from the Midwest and East Coast to attend," Becker explained.

Course size is limited to 16 students and available only to EAA members. To enroll, or for more information, contact Rainbow Aviation at 530-824-0644, or visit the Rainbow Aviation Website.
