EAA Skiplane Fly-In Set For Saturday

Skiplane Fly-in

January 17, 2008 — EAA's annual Skiplane Fly-in will take place Saturday, January 26, at Pioneer Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. A chili lunch will be served beginning at 11 a.m., followed by birthday cake for EAA matriarch Audrey Poberezny and a celebration of EAA's 56th anniversary (January 24).

"A steady snowfall in the past week has created excellent conditions for ski operations," said Sean Elliott, director of flight operations, speaking as more of the white stuff was falling in Oshkosh Thursday morning. Pilots wishing to fly in on skis must contact Elliott (920-426-4886) to register and receive an arrival briefing. Others are welcome to land at Wittman Regional Airport and catch a shuttle from Basler and Orion FBOs. Not able to attend the fly-in? Visit www.airventuremuseum.org/webcam and use EAA's live web cam to monitor the Pioneer runway.
