Virginia Fly-In Adopts New Name
January 31, 2008 — The 10-year-old Virginia Regional EAA Fly-in has changed its name and website to reflect the independent status of the event. The event is now called the Virginia Regional Festival of Flight, and its new web address is www.VirginiaFlyIn.org. The 2008 Virginia Regional Festival of Flight will be held at the Suffolk Executive Airport (SFQ) June 14-15 to launch the event's second decade.
The move to SFQ from Dinwiddie County Airport offers exciting possibilities for increasing the full range of fly-in activities, including forums, workshops, aviation vendor displays, aircraft demonstration flights, activities for young people, and acres of parking for attendees either flying or driving in.
The Council invites all pilots, aircraft owners, homebuilders and anyone interested in the exciting field of personal aviation to visit the web site for the latest information on developing plans for the event. The new fly-in location, only 40 miles west of the major Hampton Roads cities of Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Chesapeake and 15 miles north of the North Carolina State line, offers an ideal venue for growth.
Questions about attending as a vendor or for opportunities to advertise should be addressed to Judy Sparks, Fly-in Manager, 703-590-9112, JHSparks@comcast.net.
