This summer, the 2009 MKS will be hitting showrooms nationwide. If you can't wait for summer, visit to build and price your ideal Lincoln MKS. Not only can you build and price this luxury sedan, you can also place an order through your local Lincoln dealer immediately.

Aside from striking design and performance, the MKS offers a suite of exclusive technological features rivalling that of any luxury vehicle in the market. They include:

SYNC™ — a hands-free, voice-activated in-car communication and entertainment system. It fully integrates most Bluetooth®-enabled mobile phones and digital media players, providing customers hands-free cell phone and music selection capabilities*.

Optional THX®-Certified Audio System with 5.1 Surround Sound, SIRIUS Travel Link™ ** and Voice-Activated Navigation — provides superior sound quality plus real-time traffic updates, movie listings, Doppler radar weather forecasts and even directions to the closest gas stations with the best prices.

Lincoln´s SecuriCode™ Keypad — a new keyless entry keypad that is invisible until you touch it. Using heat-sensing technology, it provides LED backlit numerals on the keypad embedded in the B-pillar, and unlocks the vehicle using a five-digit code.

Easy Fuel™ Capless Fuel-Filler System — eliminates the gas cap and reduces evaporative emissions that create smog. When fueling is complete, the system automatically seals shut after the nozzle is removed.

Optional Adaptive Cruise Control — allows the driver to set and maintain the vehicle's speed without using the accelerator pedal. With four settings to accommodate various driving styles, the radar-based system can also monitor the vehicle in front (up to 600 feet) and adjust its speed to help keep a safe distance behind the lead vehicle.

Optional Intelligent Access with Push Button Start — allows the driver to enter and start the vehicle without using a key. A first for Lincoln, drivers simply carry the special fob as they approach the vehicle, touch the keyless entry pad, open the door and with the brake pedal engaged, start the engine by pushing a button.

Optional Adaptive Headlamps with Automatic High Beams and Standard High-Intensity Discharge (HID) Lamps — enhance nighttime visibility by illuminating more of the road and reducing glare from oncoming traffic. Sensors monitor vehicle speed and steering wheel input engaging electric motors that can pivot the headlamps to increase the driver´s field of vision. Automatic high beams also can switch to high intensity when no other vehicles are detected.

Optional Rain-Sensing Wipers, which are moisture-activated and programmable.

Optional Forward Sensing System, which determines how close front objects are while parking.

Two New SyncTM Features

Ford Motor Company and Microsoft have announced that the award-winning Ford SYNC™ in-car communication system will include two updates in the fall of 2008.

SYNC´s™ two new features, 911 Assist and Vehicle Health Report, continue to build upon the easily updatable applications of the SYNC™ system. *

911 Assist**
SYNC’s™ 911 Assist provides clear communication when it is the most crucial, in the event of an accident. If an emergency occurs and the SYNC™ equipped vehicle deploys its airbags, SYNC™ uses its Bluetooth® technology to initiate a direct call to local 911 services. Using SYNC’s™ hands-free connectivity, the driver or passenger can then speak directly with a 911 operator – saving valuable time by not having to wait for a central operator to connect them. In the event communication is not possible between the driver and the 911 operator, SYNC™ will play a prerecorded emergency message.

Vehicle Health Report**
With SYNC´s™ Vehicle Health Report, SYNC™ can run a realtime, detailed diagnostic report of your vehicle. Using a simple voice command, SYNC™ gathers relevant information from your vehicle´s control modules and alerts you within minutes that your private report is available for review at SYNC lets you take care of your car and get peace of mind with a simple command.

SYNC™ continues to impress its critics and wow its buyers. This revolutionary new technology has already reached 30,000 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicle owners and is forecasted to reach over1 million consumers by 2009. Already standard or optional on 12 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles, SYNC™ will be standard or optional on nearly all Ford, Lincoln and Mercury cars and trucks by the end of 2008.

Interact with digital music with the voice-activated music player by simply connecting a digital media player and telling it what to do. Browsing through albums, artists and song titles has never been easier with voice activation.

Discover SYNC
Visit your local Ford or Lincoln Mercury dealer now and see firsthand how the amazing SYNC™ technology works. A software solution as interactive as SYNC™ technology itself puts a high-touch SYNC™ tour right on the desktop computers in Ford and Lincoln Mercury dealerships. A virtual host will take each viewer through a feature-by-feature demonstration of SYNC™ — complete with sample, voice-activated phone calls and the ability to access customized music playlists by artist, genre or song.

Short of accessing SYNC™ in your own Ford or Lincoln Mercury vehicle, this desktop tour provides an engaging hint at what it´s all about and why SYNC™ is generating such a positive buzz in the marketplace.

*The cell phone or 911 Assist hardware may become damaged in a crash, the vehicle may lose battery power, or the cell phone may be thrown from the vehicle, which could prevent operation. Additionally, not all crashes deploy an airbag or activate the fuel pump shut-off, which are the criteria to initiate 911 Assist.

**Available in Fall 2008 in North America. Not all features may be available in all markets. Dates subject to change.

Volvo Recharge Concept

Imagine being able to make your daily commute gas-free without compromising power and performance. Introducing a groundbreaking innovation in sustainable transportation — the Volvo ReCharge Concept.

The ReCharge Concept is a plug-in hybrid with individual electric wheel motors and batteries that can be recharged via a regular electrical outlet for maximum environmental benefit. Recharging allows the car to be driven 60 miles on battery power alone before the four-cylinder Flexifuel engine is needed to power the car and recharge the battery.

Thanks to the excellent electrical range from a fuel consumption angle, the Volvo ReCharge Concept is as kind to the environment as it is to your wallet. When driving on electric power only, operating costs are expected to be about 80 percent lower than that of a comparable petrol-powered car. When driving beyond the 60-mile battery range, fuel consumption may vary from 0 to 1.5 gallons per 60 miles depending on the distance driven using the engine.

The ReCharge is ideal for commuters who travel less than 60 miles between home and workplace. For these drivers, the ReCharge can cover the entire round trip on electric power alone, making carbon emissions minimal. Even when traveling on longer commutes, the ReCharge produces extraordinary fuel economy. For instance, a 90-mile drive starting with a full charge will require less than a gallon of fuel, giving the car an effective fuel economy of 1.91/124 mpg!

Compared to the very best hybrid vehicles available on the market today, the Volvo ReCharge should have about 66 percent lower emissions of carbon dioxide. Emissions may be even lower than that impressive number if most of the electricity in the intended markets comes from CO2-friendly sources such as biogas, hydropower and nuclear power.
