EAA Gears Up to Participate at Sun 'n Fun 2009
April 9, 2009 — EAA is making final preparations for the 35th Sun ’n Fun Fly-In at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport in Lakeland, Florida, which is less than two weeks away. EAA will again have a major exhibit on the grounds, where memberships and renewals can be processed along with a vast amount of information ranging from aircraft insurance quotes and EAA credit card information to AirVenture advance ticket sales and EAA Aircraft Sweepstakes entry forms. Some EAA merchandise will also be available.
There is one major change EAA members should know if they’re heading to Lakeland. There will not be a separate EAA membership tent at the Sun ’n Fun main gate this year. There will be a small service center that can assist EAA members who may need their membership number to receive the discounted admission rate available to EAAers only. EAA members are urged to join or renew prior to arriving at Sun ’n Fun. Current members should be sure to bring along their membership card to prevent admission delays at Lakeland.
One thing doesn’t change, though: EAA members still receive discounted admission rates at ALL Sun ’n Fun gates.
EAA staff and representatives will be hosting more than 40 forums during the week on a variety of topics. EAA chapter leaders are invited to a social on Tuesday, April 21, on the Sun ‘n Fun grounds, with EAA president/chairman Tom Poberezny at the event. EAA Founder Paul Poberezny and his wife, Audrey, are also scheduled to attend Sun ’n Fun during the week.
The two major EAA Sweepstakes prizes - the Flight Design MC and RotorWay Talon A600 helicopter - will also be on display at Lakeland.
EAA’s editorial staff will be covering the event, with a special e-Hotline on Sun ’n Fun’s opening day. EAA will also chronicle the event for EAA’s print and online communications.
