Learn To Fly/Open House in Southeastern Washington
May13, 2010 — Every year around this time, Bergstrom Aircraft in Pasco, Washington, holds its annual open house. This year they decided to combine that event with International Learn to Fly Day on Saturday, May 15, plus they’re inviting local area pilots to fly in. It’s being billed as Southeastern Washington State's Aviation Celebration.
“We’re inviting the general public to come and find out what’s involved in learning to fly,” said Bergstrom’s Amber Martin, front office manager. “We’re also asking the general aviation community to participate.”
Attendees can take an introductory flight lesson, talk to flight instructors, or pick up a free Learn to Fly introductory packet. Also planned are mini-ground school sessions, aircraft on display, and scenic flight tours. Visitors can attend an aviation seminar and hear from industry guest speakers, or learn about the latest in aviation products, avionics, and more.
Bergstrom Aircraft encourages pilots to fly in with their airplanes - “Fly in your Cessna, Piper, Beechcraft, Mooney, light-sport, experimental, antique, tailwheel, bi-plane, and anything else that flies!” Attendees will be invited to cast their vote for their favorite airplane in the People's Choice award balloting.
Burgers and hot dogs will be available on the ramp. The event begins at 8 a.m. and runs through 5 p.m.
