Chapter 1158 Welcomes Jeff Skiles to ILTFD Event

May13, 2010 — EAA Chapter 1158 in West Bend, Wisconsin, welcomes special guest Jeff Skiles to Celebrate Aviation, its International Learn To Fly Day event at the West Bend Airport this Saturday, May 15. Skiles, first officer of the Miracle on the Hudson US Airways Flight 1549, will offer insight on learning to fly, his aviation experiences, and of course, that memorable flight with Captain “Sully” Sullenberger on January 15, 2009.

Skiles and Sully serve as co-chairmen of the EAA Young Eagles program, and Skiles will offer Young Eagle flights in the morning before his special presentation at 1:30 p.m.

Visitors can attend a number of free Learn to Fly seminars and meet with pilots, flight instructors, and aircraft owners to talk about all aspects of aviation.

Festivities are centered on the chapter’s Education Facility at 310 Aerial Drive. Celebrate Aviation gets under way at 9 a.m. and runs through 3 p.m. Exhibits, presentations, and food will be available.
