EAA Seeks Senior Editor - Publications
May13, 2010 — EAA has an opportunity for a seasoned journalist to play an integral role as part of our in-house Publications staff. The senior editor is responsible for the day-to-day planning and production of significant parts of EAA’s award-winning monthly member publication - EAA Sport Aviation magazine. Responsibilities include research, writing, editing, and proofing as well as the management of projects, processes, staff, and freelance writers and photographers. This individual will also write articles and features for the magazine and associated electronic publications as well as respond to member correspondence.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five years of experience in print publishing, with strong writing and editing skills/experience as well as an understanding of creative design, photography, and illustration processes. A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field is required, but a combination of education and experience may be considered. To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who understands and shares the passion of aviation and EAA’s mission and has knowledge of the aviation industry, including a broad knowledge of the aircraft, people, and other subject matter represented at our annual convention—EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. A pilot certificate is preferred.
