Do You Want to be a Professional Pilot?

August 11, 2010 — If you’re a future professional pilot or are considering another career in aviation and are actively looking for an aviation university or flight school, join EAA at Focus on the Future, Saturday, August 28, 2010, at the Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway.

EAA is proud to announce its participation in the FltOps.com Career Conference and Job Fair. FltOps.com, the host of the Focus on the Future sessions around the country, is an online information service for aspiring and professional pilots. These sessions are open to all aspiring professionals, parents, and career counselors. Best of all—it is free!

Louis Smith, president of FltOps.com, states that the future job market for professional pilots, including airline pilots, looks very strong. With thousands of airline pilots facing mandatory retirement in the coming years, the time has never been better for high school and college-age students to consider a career in aviation.

Attend the conference for free and meet with representatives from the best schools in the U.S. Learn from the pros about the projected need for new pilots, other careers available in aviation, financing your flight/aviation training and education, and developing a rational career plan.

Barry Elk, EAA’s Director of Membership Marketing, will be on hand to answer questions about the Young Eagles program as well as EAA’s new Student Membership, supported by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Embry-Riddle will also be a participant in the Focus on the Future session in Atlanta.

Getting started in your career has never been easier with EAA Student Membership and the EAA Flight Plan. “Through the Flight Plan, we are building the next generation of aviation by working to eliminate barriers that may stand between a Young Eagle and the cockpit,” says EAA Manager of Youth Programs Brian O’Lena. “A young person can take that initial spark of curiosity from the Young Eagles program and pursue a direct path toward their own aviation participation.”

Young Eagles are now eligible for EAA Student Membership, Sporty’s Online Ground School, a first flight lesson and FAA written—all free for students who participate in the EAA Flight Plan.

Start your involvement in aviation and see what it would take to become a professional pilot: Join EAA at the FltOps.com Focus on the Future session Saturday, August 28, 2010, at 12:30 at the Atlanta Airport Marriot Gateway. See the FltOps.com website at www.fltops.com/jobs for further details about the Career Conference and Job Fair.
