EAA’s Student Membership Program

What is the EAA Student membership Program?
It is an EAA membership available FREE of charge to any young person who has completed a Young Eagles flight.

What is included in the membership?

  • A free electronic copy of EAA Sport Aviation
    Our world class aviation magazine will be sent via email each month and is viewable via the web, plus a wide range of mobile devices and e-readers.

  • Free admission to over 300 science and technology museums
    EAA has a world class aviation museum located in Oshkosh, WI, and is a participant the ASTC network

  • Free student membership in the Academy of Model Aeronautics
    The AMA supports those interested in aircraft modeling and r/c flying.

  • Free access to Sporty’s online Complete Flight Training Course
    This course ($215 value) is designed to take an aviation “newbie” all the way through the process of passing their FAA written exam. 

  • Other EAA member  benefits
    Including an attractive membership card; discounts on merchandise, flight experiences, the EAA Air Academy and EAA AirVenture Oshkosh; and access to Members’ Only websites and other information resources.

How do I qualify?
To be eligible for a FREE EAA Student Membership you must have flown as an EAA Young Eagle, and be between the ages of 8 and 19 years old.

What if I’m not a Young Eagle?  
Becoming a Young Eagle is easy and it’s offered free of charge.  Visit www.youngeagles.org for information on a flight near you.

How do I register?
Young Eagles can register for a free membership online at www.youngeagles.org/join

I am currently a student member of EAA, what happens to my membership? 
Current EAA student members will be converted to the new free student membership.

I was a Young Eagle several years ago in the past - can still I join?
Yes, past Young Eagles between ages 8 and 19 are still eligible.  Visit www.youngeagles.org/join to sign up.

Will EAA sell my information?
NO.  EAA takes your privacy very seriously and does not sell your personal information.  The registration information provided will be used only to activate the membership, and deliver the membership benefits.

Are there any age requirements?
Yes, you must be between the ages of 8 and 19.   Children aged 12 or under must be registered by a parent.

What happens when I turn 19?
EAA will contact you before your membership expires and explain you options and how you can continue your membership.

How is EAA able to offer this for Free?
The EAA Student Membership is supported by Embry Riddle Aeronautical University who - like EAA - encourages young people to develop an interest in aviation.
