Flight Design to Unveil a Four-Place Plane at AERO
January 6, 2011 — Flight Design, maker of the popular CT series of light-sport aircraft, plans to unveil a new four-place, proof-of-concept airplane at this year’s Aero show in Friedrichshafen, Germany, scheduled for April 13-16. Matthias Betsch, Flight Design CEO, said the company is nearing completion on the new model, which would be the company’s first aircraft outside the LSA market. “Following the German debut, we will bring our four-seat concept aircraft to AirVenture Oshkosh,” Betsch said. No further details were provided.
The new airplane won’t be ready to show at Sebring, but the Flight Design team will be well-represented at the U.S. Sport Aviation Expo, set for January 20-23. The entire management team from Flight Design USA and Flight Design Germany will be present and eager to recruit additional professional organizations as CT representatives in aircraft sales outlets and service centers throughout the U.S. “We would like to speak to businesses interested in working with Flight Design and will be available all during the show,” Betsch said.
Added Flight Design USA President Tom Peghiny, “We anticipate 2011 will be a year of improving fortunes for all of aviation and including light-sport aircraft sales. To assure our customers have access to the best service, and to make the CTLS available at a dealer closer to buyers, we are seeking to enlarge our distribution.”
